MARK HERRMANN is a partner resident in the Chicago office of the international law firm Jones Day.  He is a graduate of Princeton University and The University of Michigan Law School (Articles Editor, Law Review), and he served as Law Clerk to Judge Dorothy W. Nelson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Mark is the lead author of Statewide Coordinated Proceedings:  State Court Analogues To the Federal MDL Process (Thomson West 2004).  Mark is currently serving as national coordinating counsel for a major pharmaceutical company in all product liability litigation arising out of the use of a prescription antidepressant.  He co-hosts the Drug and Device Law Blog (http://druganddevicelaw.blogspot.com), the most widely read product liability blog on the internet.  Mark taught Complex Litigation as an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law from 1997 through 2007.  His most recent book, The Curmudgeon’s Guide to Practicing Law, is one of ABA Publishing's best-selling books of all time.  Mark is an elected member of the American Law Institute, where he serves on the Members Consultative Group for the Principles of the Law of Aggregate Litigation.  Mark is also listed in assorted collections of leading lawyers, including, for example, this year’s editions of Best Lawyers in America and Illinois’ “Super Lawyers.”
