Linda A. Willett, former Bristol-Myers Squibb Company Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, is now a partner in the New York office of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold. Willett has more than a decade of in-house counsel experience. She has directed the strategic management and resolution of major litigation and investigations; helped corporate leaders develop global business strategies; handled challenging risk assessments; advised on acquisitions and divestitures; and supervised lawyers in almost every practice group during her tenure with Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Prior to attending law school, Willett worked at the Lederle Laboratories and Shulton subsidiaries of the American Cyanamid Company, where she managed a number of product development functions. After graduating from law school she was a partner at a law firm that specialized in product liability litigation and served as national counsel in breast implant litigation.
Willett has served on the boards of many community organizations and professional associations, and currently is Board Chair for Legal Momentum. She is a member of the Economic Club of New York, European Justice Forum, Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and Women’s Forum of New York.
She obtained her juris doctorate degree from Rutgers University; a degree in library and information science from Rutgers; a science-related Master’s Degree from Duquesne University; and her B.S. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
