ANDREW T. BAYMAN is the Practice Group Leader of King & Spalding's Tort Litigation and Environmental Practice Group.  The Practice Group, with over 190 lawyers (including a state-of-the-art offsite Discovery Center), is one of the largest practice groups of its kind in the U.S. and is devoted exclusively to defending tort litigation.  The Practice Group offers a complete array of expertise -- from the cost-effective collection of documents, the work-up of scientific and other experts, and a sophisticated motion practice -- to trial and appeal including class actions and MDL's in notoriously dangerous jurisdictions.  The Practice Group was recognized by The American Lawyer in 2004 as one of the top three product liability practices in the country and in 2006, Chambers USA placed the Practice Group in its top tier of such practices nationwide.  In 2006, the Practice Group was again named to the National Law Journal's "Defense Hot List" of top ten firms with cutting-edge, successful strategies.  Mr. Bayman represents pharmaceutical, medical device and foreign automobile manufacturers in product liability lawsuits.  His clients include GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Eli Lilly, Toyota, Nissan, Porsche, Isuzu, Mazda, Subaru, Kia, Weyerhaeuser, Olympus, and Club Car, among others.  Mr. Bayman serves as national trial counsel for Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, the country's largest private clinical laboratory company, in lawsuits arising out of the interpretation of laboratory specimens.  He served as national coordinating counsel for a large consumer healthcare product manufacturer and has supervised a national document collection and company-wide interviews for that manufacturer. In 2006 and 2008, he was selected by Law & Politics and Atlanta magazine as a Georgia "Super Lawyer" who has attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement based on an extensive survey of Georgia lawyers.  He was also named one of “the Best Lawyers in America,” 2006-2008.  He graduated magna cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1986.  He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa.  He was one of the original recipients of the President's Award for Distinguished Service to Miami University.  He received his J.D. in 1989 from Vanderbilt University School of Law where he was a Patrick Wilson Scholar and a member of the Vanderbilt Law Review.
